The Drop

My long time friend and very talented artistic visionary is launching her very own clothing brand! She’s invited me to curate a night of music for her launch party. Since this is a streetwear brand, Hip Hop and Drum & Bass feel like the perfect fit. I’ve invited Melt head honcho judochOp! to spin some hip hop records, while i’ll be playing a digital drum and bass set.

This is a free evening party, and is sure to be loads of fun. RSVP via the website here: https://www.fvrhms.com/

The Der Bunker crew is teaming up to launch a residency night at The Lunchbox. This will be a soft launch while we get our footing and nail down a specific night each month, but I’m very excited to play alongside some of my personal favorite (and arguably most talented) local techno DJ/producers.

Expect non-conforming, forward thinking, relevant techno and experimental electronic music. Our first party will be on 1/23, come have a drink and indulge in the darker realms of unexplored sonic territory.

Belief Defect Pre-Party

We’ve all been waiting a long time for this announcement, and that day is finally here: Der Bunker has returned. Additionally, I’ve been invited to start the year off alongside Tristan/Iseult and Joe Bear at Der Bunker’s Belief Defect pre-party.

If you’ve been around the Phoenix techno scene for more than a few years, then the Bunker crew needs no introduction. If you’re unfamiliar with the name, Der Bunker was one of the first local groups to take techno seriously throughout the past decade. Beyond that, they’ve been doing the damn thing for longer than most of us have even been familiar with the genre. It’s a massive honor to be asked to perform with a group of individuals that I more or less idolize, and I cannot wait to see what the year may have in store.

We’ll be doing this party at the Lunchbox in Phoenix – The venue has quite an underground dive bar feel, but with a very impressive and well tuned sound system built by the Der Bunker boss himself. Playing on good sound is a very elusive experience here in the valley, one that I have been chasing since I started taking music seriously.

Since this is a prelude to the big show, it’s only right that I plug that event as well. Bunker is bringing Belief Defect (Drumcell + Luis Flores) out to the desert for their first Arizona performance. The duo is widely regarded as one of the most ground breaking live-techno acts currently performing, and the hype is very well deserved. Needless to say, I’m humbled to prime Phoenix heads for their appearance here in the valley with this pre-party! Information for the Belief Defect party itself can be found here:

D.Dan @ Scarlet Room

I’m back out with the Techno Snobs, and am honored to be opening the very first residency night over at the Scarlet Room in Downtown Phoenix. Starting on December 20th, they will be hosting techno once a week on the massive Turbosound stacks upstairs above Monarch Theater. Much needed in the valley!

This venue should be a great fit for the usual vibe; low ceilings, proper point-source PA, and a nice intimate setting. For the first event, they’ll be bringing techno talent D.Dan from Berlin. D.Dan is one of the first DJs I’ve felt “compatible” with in terms of intensity, pace, and style of mixing – so I am very excited to see him perform.

Catch me 930pm-11pm. Tickets are available now via Resident Advisor here:

Full Moon Festival

I have some very exciting news! I’ve been booked to close out Full Moon Festival this month. This is easily our biggest recurring local-fueled music festival, and I’ve been dying to play on 50,000 watts of BASS!

We’ve been hosting a stage at this festival for quite a while now, and previous dates have seen us bring the likes of Dustin Zahn, Developer, and a booking for Ø [Phase] that sadly fell through due to travel delays. Needless to say, this is going to be an extremely fun night and I cannot wait to give those subwoofers a nice workout.
